A perfect example of pretending white racism exists in every nook and cranny to avoid being confronted by the reality that the biggest problems blacks have is the behavior of blacks.
The reason why black people have so many problems is the way they behave.
Not so fast! -- Only a minority of people of color act that way, but a loud, foolish, and very ugly one.
The verwhelming majority of African-Americans with whom I work and deal have behaved witth dignity and respect through this embarrassment, regardless of opinions regarding Martin/Zimmerman.
I am not convinced we have regressed. It may look that way based on the rhetoric we see and read. But at the level of real people - I think things are better today than they were a decade ago. I am no fan of Obama. But through no fault of his own, I think his presence in the White House has hardened the outlook of some - in a bad way. The attitude of some minorities seems to be that Obama will personally make their lives better. Of course that won't happen. And the attitude of some whites has become more extreme.
Well said...and let us not forget that between, cable, radio and social media, it gives a lot of extremists platforms. At the end of the day, America is browning, and that doesn't sit well with a lot of folks.
