No.

You have to be 18 to join the military. If you can go to war at 18 to defend your country and be a 'man', you should be able to drive, drink and own firearms.

So yes, I support raising the driving age, lowering the drinking age and lowering the ownership age. But not carry age.

I can tell that you didn't read the law so here it is in full.

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are— (1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
I gotta say it. You know, aside from any stupid-***** discussion about gun laws this, gun laws that, gun laws the other, the gun-nuts' gun obsession is so unfrikinbelievably BORING BORING BORING. OMIGOD. I'm sorry but I cannot for the life of me UNDERSTAND how any BREATHING human can: 1) Have any interest in guns; 2) Be fascinated by them; 3) Spend ANY TIME engaged in anything whatsoever to do with guns; 4) Want one around, or anything related to guns, when life is so interesting and there are so many truly interesting things to do instead of this sh*t. The only real reason I can see for gun nuts having all this interest in guns, is that gun nuts are the biggest d*mned paranoid schizophrenics in the whole U.S. of A. Seriously. It takes all of my effort not to frikin' fall asleep whenever gun nuts begin talking about guns, and I'm not joking. Hell, watching a tournament of palanka jaurtiketa in the boondocks of some little town in the Basque Country is jaw-dropping fascinating compared with this gun sh*t.

Exactly. And don't they say that boys in particular don't reach real maturity until they're about 27 or something?

The parents should know, if they are packing heat.

My now 15 yo old daughter has had here own gun since she was 5. A 410 shotgun.
She has a scoped Browning wood stock 223, and the 30 round mag, to go with it, that she deer hunts with since she was 10.
She has a 38 special for when she goes bow hunting and the over aggressive Hog, if needed.
She wants a black powder musket, now.

They are hers. The stay in her closet gun safe.
