For those born after 1965 what have you learn and more importantly what will you do with the rest of your life?

Let me get more specific with that question and let me break it down into 3 part.

1. What have you learned from our current political situation both foreign and domestic? What would you do the same and what would you do differently from past political administrations that you have remembered or studied?

2. What have you learned from our current financial lifestyle and current economic situation? And what would you do differently or would keep the same?

3. What will the culture of America look like by the time your ready to retire?

Please for those of you that we born before 1965 please refrain from posting for the most part. You may make little comments if we are factually incorrect. But for the most part please stand back and listen to your kids and grandkids voices. I want to hear what there thinking. Remember you guys will be gone one day and they will have to run the show.

The lesson I have taken from recent political events is that most people are fundamentally ignorant about the world, and that golden-tongued manipulators can induce them to support measures that go against their own personal interests. I think this is just a function of human nature, and cannot be stopped. It's the nature of humankind to develop hierarchies and look toward leaders. People like to think of themselves as 'independents' and 'lone wolves,' but in most regards, they aren't. They are flock animals. And they are often too dumb to realize it.

That we should keep our noses out of other people's business both foreign and domestic. OMG... I would repeal everything that we did since the last decade. The things we did do right were so few I can't even remember them and I am not kidding!

Americans were much more into self-entitlement than I originally believed and they always complain about wanting something without paying for it. We should of focused on keeping the dollar strong instead we let large corporations erode the dollar that the American people built. We built it and they are tearing it down. I would of separated Big Business from the State as we have separated the Church from the State... It simply is bad for the American people to have them combined, as the interest of the government is based on corruption instead of the improving and protecting the lives of the American people - thats what a good government is for.

3. What will the culture of America look like by the time your ready to retire?

The worse is yet to come, I predict massive unemployment as business after business collapses from the erosion they brought onto the American people. You can only steal so much before the ground caves in. We will be in another Depression (first we will have a recession of 8-9 years - has not officially started yet, it is only building momentum for another 2-3 years) however it will have a short-lived Depression (3-4 years) before we get our act together. By the time I retire it wouldn't matter because I am already wealthy so I can wear out the Depression and we will be in a strong economic rebuilding when I retire. I am born AFTER 1965 but I won't say when exactly...

I believe the first two posters are why America is in trouble rather than anything they've posted.

Globally, the world has really never been better. When you cut the Middle East/Africa out of the picture, the world is seeing tremendous growth and renewal. Asia is rising as a middle-class force and Latin America is beginning the process. Hopefully, more jobs will be created in the third world to help lift them out of poverty.

Domestically, I see a war in Iraq that while uncalled for, is beginning to show signs of improvement. I see a nation in America that has overseen two great presidents (Regan/Clinton) set this nation on a course for the greatest growth in our history. Bush is a failure at fiscal conservatism as well as social. For that, he is a failed presidency. He does get it on the WOT, too bad the next Hilary presidency will drop the ball on that too.

Honestly, we're faltering becuase we have become a nation of neurotic, self-absorbed selfish brats. Socialism lies in America's future, as my generation has been rasied by MTV and the XBox and gets everything from mommy and daddy. So why not make Government mommy and daddy?.

I have learned that history does indeed repeat itself. Its appropriate that you cite 1965 as Bush is really just another LBJ. Guns and butter....

2. What have you learned from our current financial lifestyle and current economic situation? And what would you do differently or would keep the same?

I would like to see Congress and the Executive Branch adopt pay as you go and other aspects of fiscal prudence. I would like the people to support them. I would also like to sleep with Heidi Klum.

Furthermore I would like to see people stop blaming others for their own stupid mistakes. Sub prime mortgages, credit card debt- nobody put a gun to their heads.

3. What will the culture of America look like by the time your ready to retire?

How the hell would I or anyone else know?

The country is going to pass the torch of global superleadership to China.

Our involvement in the Middle East has made people question fundamentally what it even means to be a patriot these days. Schools won't even allow the military in to recruit anymore. People don't trust how the military is being used and do not want to sacrifice their own for the administration's pursuits. This hurts the psyche of the nation.

The Free Market System is finally running its natural course. The majority of Americans are finding it more and more difficult to run the capitalist rat race, while the rich are just getting richer off of global investments. Getting almost impossible to pay for medical care or higher education. Used to be hard work and smarts would pretty much guarantee a decent life. Now all the good jobs are getting outsourced by the millions to increase company profits and stock returns. We are turning into a service economy of restaurants and car dealerships.
