Hate to sound conspiratorial, but there seems to be a real intent, regardless of party in Wash DC, to destroy this country and what it stands (stood) for. With Jorge's pro-immigration policies, no border control, bringing in the NAU, and starting wars over the globe to idiot HillBill Club advancing socialism and also pro illegal, we don't have much chance. No doubt the future will bring anarchy, then military dictatorship--welcome to the 3rd world....

Default Interesting, 32 votes and only

11 replies, before this one. And in those 11 replies, I'm reading doom and gloom from just about everyone, woe is I, we are going down the tubes, weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Everyone complains about the situation at hand, how the politicians and corporate powers are acting in conjunction to cause the downfall of the US, but no one dares make any suggestions.

Here's a suggestion: VOTE! One of the last true freedoms any of us have left, and yet the turnout for any given election, be it presidential or local, is rarely above 50%. My take on this is this: If you don't VOTE, you have no right to complain, whine, or moan about the outcomes.

My own main fear is the coming onslaught of islamic fascists who don't really give a tinker's damn about the western way of life, who could care less about the money this country gives to nations around the world, called charity, who will maim and/or kill simply because someone doesn't practice islam. It's coming, folks, it's coming. I'll probably be long dead and cremated before it happens, as I'm a BB, but all you naysayers better get a grip and take heed. Get out there and VOTE!

Forgot something: I did not vote in this poll, either.

that isnt true, Hillary and Obama have good plans that will help America and help the people

What bothers me now is that I feel that all the things going on now are leading up to something very big(and bad)-as if we're being acclimated to living in fear and on edge to prepare us for something looming much larger in the near future. Dunno what, but I dont like it one bit.

the wealthy who control this country and control this world are going to keep it like that, unless you make money for them you are a peasent and you can die and be expandable for all they care

I use to have such pride in being an American and was proud to be American, not anymore

I'd say I'm pretty worried. When it comes to voting, it seems like it doesn't matter who you vote for, you're gonna get almost the same thing. Sure, you could vote third party, but how many of those guys have a chance in hell of winning?

On the opposite side, I've always been proud to be an American, and will continue to be proud to be an American till I die. For all its problems, for all the strange politics, the United States is STILL the best thing going, in all the world.

I think our future isn't pretty, I believe it will get a lot worst before people stand up and fight back, right now there is not enough people who care. I may live anouther 30 years but I'm not going to worry about it, I'll take it as it comes and deal with it.

People should stop putting value on party lines and unite as Americans. our government doesn't listen to what the people want and that should change, we need to speak up and if we are not heard we need to kick our officials to the curb and put people in that will listen, that is the only way to build a better future and as long as it continues as it is our future is out of our hands, we need to take control of our government with term limits and impeachment of anybody who is not doing the will of Americans.

Actually I see some possible bright days ahead.

Bush has pretty much destroyed our capacity to engage in much more "empire building" wars. The Army is maxed and can do no more foreign invasions, and for now, it appears the Navy and Air Force are now held in check on the would-be Iran debacle. These are good things.

The corporate parasite bankers are on the verge of collapse from bad credit card and real estate loans. I will be ready to dance on their graves. The IMF and World Bank try to do their business in dollars. As worthless as the dollar is becoming, they will lose their power and influence. These are good things.

Nasty-dirty-air-and-earth-destroying oil is finally becoming so expensive that We the Idiots are finally thinking it might not be such a smart idea to buy it to burn. That is a good thing.

After all the Globalony Empire nonsense collapses, we can return to being a functional nation -- sort of like Russia has managed to do after the collapse of the Soviet Union. That is a good thing.

Not really that much to fight about. Just stand straight, do right, and watch the house of cards fall. Not that big of deal. And that is a good thing.
