This happened a week ago just a few miles from my home.
It was raining when a black male entered a Family Dollar store in West Dearborn with a dark hoodie pulled over his head.
We now know the purpose of wearing the hoodie wasn't to keep the rain off his head but to conceal his identity.
So as Obama lectures white America on their perceptions of black males, the question becomes, for all those who believe racial profiling is wrong, how do we distinguish between innocent black males wearing a hoodie to keep the rain off their heads and those who are a threat?
Considering the picture of the Boston Bomber on the cover of Rolling Stone, HOW do you propose we tell any killer by looks alone?
I think there is a bias against wearing hoodies rather than just race based. Mainly because every robber uses hoodies because they can cover as much noticeable parts of their body with them.
