Unfortunately it might be worse, one has to ask what employers are thinking. If someone keeps showing up for work late or doesn't show up at all, maybe doesn't do the job and if that person is called on the carpet, will there be trouble because they cry racism? I've seen it happen.

"Cracker" refers to the sound of a whip hitting a slave's body hence the term "cracker'. As you know white slave owners used to whip their black slaves. I find it surprising that whites think it's a racial slur when it is based on history.

Cracker, Cracka: It is a racist term used in a derogative manner but it has little power to illicit anything but a chuckle from the majority of white people. That is the nature of words & insults, you have to fundamentally give a crap what the other person says & thinks.
