In the summer of 2011, I recall attending two meetings related to the Tea Party applications. In July 2011, I attended a meeting at which Ms. Lerner, Ms. Paz, Mr. Seto, Ms. Kindell, Ms. Kastenberg, and someone from Chief Counsel’s office were present. Ms. Lerner led the meeting, and she instructed everyone that the applications should be referred to as “advocacy” applications and not “Tea Party” applications.

In August 2011, I attended a meeting at which the applications assigned to me were discussed. I recall that Don Spellman, David Marshall, and Amy Franklin from Chief Counsel’s Office were at the meeting, as well as tax law specialists Justin Lowe, Hillary Goehausen and Ms. Kastenberg. I recall that Ms. Franklin or someone else from Chief Counsel’s Office stated that more current information was needed for my applications and that a second development letter should be sent to the applicants. I also recall a discussion about the creation of a template development letter for the Tea Party applications. I expressed my opinion that a template was not a good idea, as there was a great deal of variance among the groups and each application needed to be developed according to its particular facts and circumstances.

After the August 2011 meeting, the applications assigned to me were transferred to another tax law specialist, Ms. Goehausen. After the applications were transferred, I had no further involvement with respect to the Tea Party applications.

They don't work and pay taxes so why would they care. Besides, they are already sold and bought, cheap too.

To all of you criticizing this woman for taking the 5th, am I to assume you believe Zimmerman to be guilty because he did not testify?

Fair question, if you ask me.

I'm sure when Obama hears about this on MSNBC that he will fire Lerner

Lame attempt and do you actually compare what the IRS did to the GZ case? Go back to licking boots and watch MSNBC more, I'm sure they will find talking points for you.
I can see why you would want to avoid this comparison because you know I am spot on. So, let's break this down.

-You are asserting that the other side for Obama is not hostile? Please. Look in the mirror before you call me a "bootlicker" if you are going to make such a foolish statement.

-It isn't a comparison cases, but rather how to handle legal situations. You are always told to take the 5th no matter what, and you know this. You (and many others) are very hypocritically harping on this lady for doing something everyone on your side would also do.

-MSNBC is a crap station. I don't watch it. Thank you for telling Nielsen what stations I watch, however. I had no idea you had control over my eyes and brain.

The Republicans are friendly towards Obama. Wow. That's news to me, or anyone except staunch Obama loathers.

FAIL!

The police were not friendly to GZ, yet he did not lawyer up. He answered all questions and agreed to the scene to re-inact which was played at the trial.

Lois Lerner immediately lawyered up, claimed innocence then pleaded the 5th. Lerner is hiding something otherwise she wouldn't have asked for immunity unless she did wrong or has information to give that is worth getting immunity for.

Congratulations, you just made a fool out of yourself.

And this thread is about the IRS harassment of Obama's political enemies. Besides, your talking about RACE is BORING me. There are about 10 current threads you can go gripe about skin color.

Obama lovers don't have any input because the liberal media didn't give out their talking points yet.

I have absolutely no problem with the IRS targeting Tea party groups filing for tax exemptions...

We all know that the majority of the filers were the same people you see on youtube, ranting daily about 'that socialist moozlum in the white house...' You know the ones; furiously typing away on political forums all day long, while living in their parents basement, wearing Cheetos stained wife beaters...

...just trying to get their free stuff...

Great! But your feelings and baseless assumptions have to influence on if the IRS should treat everyone evenly and fairly. Targeting doesn't meet those standards.
