Maybe the death would have been prevented if the government mandated that they buy newly assembled coasters every year. Which guarantees nothing.
Or...maybe they could have mandated signs in front of all coasters saying "WARNING...there are inherent risks with coasters and there is a better chance of you dying by getting on this ride as opposed to keeping both of your feet on the ground"
Both scenarios do not do much except help a park go out of business.
I'm surprised the conservatives on here aren't blaming the woman for her own death---well, she should have held onto the bar more tightly, or she was probably too fat, ---obviously she made some bad choices.

Falling out off roller coasters it's not a normal occurrence. She was telling the operator that her lap safety bar or whatever it's called seemed loose and she was told that that was the way out was suppose to be. I hope her family sue and win.
She had just seen the new Superman movie at the theater.
