My point is that your post is a lie. He never said he was licensed in KY.
You don't need a license to give advice in the newspaper. Do you really think that Dr Phil is licensed in every state and country that carries his TV program?
They felt he overreached his bounds. Again, I think they were stricter because the advice was geared to parenting discipline, not things like Dear Abby has. Maybe they felt it was akin to a nurse having a column and giving medical advice more geared to a doctor. I haven't read the column in question, so I don't know.
The article I read said his license is a "psychology associate" whatever that means, not a psychologist.
Quote:
John Rosemond has worked with families, children, and parents since 1971 in the field of family psychology. In 1971, John earned his masters in psychology from Western Illinois University and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. In 1999, his alma mater conferred upon John the Distinguished Alumni Award, given only once per year. Upon acceptance, he gave the commencement address.
From 1971-1979, he worked as a psychologist in Illinois and North Carolina and directed several mental-health programs for children.
From 1980-1990. John was in full-time practice as a family psychologist with Piedmont Psychological Associates in Gastonia.
He's been a licensed psychologist. Jack Conway is trying to stir up publicity because he has higher ambitions.

To me psychics, psychologists, and psychiatrists are all quacks. Remember that psychiatry said that homosexuality was a 'disorder' until the mid-1970's, and now they say that homophobia is a disorder.
I wonder if you have to have a state license to be a psychic. If you go to a psychic, I supposed you'd want to make sure that it was a legit, gov't-approved psychic, right?

Licensing doesn't change anything. And you should be able to publish an advice column any time without government approval.
