What a stupid, ugly, partisan thread

For reference, the founding states that are now generally democratic.....had slaves.

Really, I cannot fathom being creating a thread so stupid, oh well, no education, no knowledge of history and you get what you get I suppose.....
Agreed. Perhaps the OP needs to study history.

You mean besides basic population differences?

It's not exactly hard to figure out why NY is more "productive" than Idaho.

Virtually every US firearm manufacture calls these states home

If all the hard working, smart, entrepreneurial people left the east coast, why isn't a large bustling metropolis thriving in Idaho instead of New York?

Which then begs the question, why would one of the original founding states like New Hampshire have some of the most unrestrictive gun laws of any state in the US? Why would a state that you consider to be ultra liberal have some of the most anti-liberal/moron gun laws around?

Who said that? There are tons of hard working, smart, entrepreneurial people in ever state in the US.

There are many factors at work, however. Urban vs. rural is all-important. There is demographics, and a host of other things. The colonies were not all blue in 2012. GA, NC, SC, and W VA were all red in 2012.

And VA. just barely went blue. And going blue one time does not change things.

See post #3 in this thread. That's what I'm responding to.

Modern day left wing liberalism as embodied by the extreme ideology of the Democratic Party bears zero resemblance to the classical liberalism valued by the founding fathers.

Unfortunately, neither does the Republican Party truly embrace classical liberalism.

That is why the Tea Party exists - to revive classical liberalism ideals, produce a smaller, constitutionally limited federal government, one which requires less taxes, fosters a strong economy by allowing people to keep their hard earned money in their own hands where it can do the most good, and ensuring that government is transparent and held accountable to the people.

That is conservatism at its core - and it is the best way to secure liberty and provide opportunity for all - which is what the founders intended.

The Democrats wish for big, intrusive government that requires confiscation of money, regulation and control that robs people of liberty and property rights, and increasing dependence on the state.

The modern Democratic Party is the fruition of the founding father's worst nightmares.
