It reminds me of the 'diversity' stat becoming part of the USNews college rankings. Well enough, except some colleges are in really remote areas and have trouble attracting enough minorities from urban/border areas. Now they are penalized for that.
U.S. Census data is used to facilitate this liberal wet dream.
It is a perfect reason why one should only list their name on the census form, or not complete the form at all in protest for the Orwelian tool that it has become.
This is how the recession of 2008(which is now the Great Obama Recession) was started - by Democrats trying to get people who were unable to buy a home to do so.
Now the Democrats are leading us down the road of following the same failed policies that got us into the mess in the first place.
I don't understand... does living in a certain neighborhood empower you to be different? I just assume people live in neighborhoods they could afford... I didn't think banks look at the address to see if an applicant is qualified for the loan...
Actually, banks used to do precisely that, ever heard of redlining?

High kick! Lockstep! Follow der Leader!
You seem to have no problem with local governments preventing the construction and sale of homes those people actually could afford to buy.
HUD will then be forced to loan to certain folks in certain neighborhoods in order to be "fair" even if folks can't afford the home or not. The banks will of course gladly due it and securitize the loans and sell them over and over again to investors because when the payments aren't made the taxpayers will of course have to bail out the banks becuase the US government backs the loans. Where have we seen this all before? I know it's happened somewhere.
As if conventional lending standards accurately determine who can afford what.
Harrier would never advocate for any government entity to prevent construction and sales of homes.
He does have a problem with government telling homebuilders when and what they must construct.
Let the free market reign - if there is a market for "affordable housing" then rest assure that the homes will be built to meet the demand.
Um, are you freaking serious? Look at your local zoning code, you will find prohibitions on the construction and sale of homes that are both affordable and that would be built if the private sector were allowed to do so.
