I think Congress knows it's a mistake and is more than happy to give Obama wants and watch this blow up in his face, which it will. Obama has been arming jihadists, the same people who beheaded a Catholic priest, and now he is giving them more weapons. What does he think he's going to accomplish if Assad is overthrown by the jihadist rebels with the help of the US, other than the US getting into a war with the same people he armed?

Yes, it is a mistake. A big one. And somehow, someway when it all goes wrong, Obama will tell America that it's on Congress because they approved it.

I don't think so. This is bipartisan. Remember McCain's "secret" visit to Syria ?

Well it wasn't so secret after all since the President and State Dept approved it and helped arrange it and even provided security to McCain during his trip.

Just goes to show you what a huge farce our government puts up in the public eye (D vs R divide) vs what they actually do with each other's approval.

Nothing. When one expect nothing from Obama there's no disappointment.

BTW: Obama can't win because he sucks at being POTUS.

Well, keep in mind that to some people, anything is like a bell to Pavlov's dog. No thinking required of them.

The only ones I hear screaming for this are McCain and his sidekick Lindsey Graham - not exactly rock-ribbed conservatives.

For what it's worth, this conservative tea party type is against arming Islamists anywhere for any reason.

Who is yelling and screaming about needing more wars and involvement in foreign conflicts?
