People who use their food stamps to send food to their families in other countries should have their benefits taken away.

LMAO...you folks spend tens of billions to defend wealthy nations like Japan, S. Korea, and Western Europe. One huge ass subsidy, while they laugh at you and spend their money on their citizens.

And you're worrying about some foodstuffs going to the Caribbean on your dime?

Nice. Great priorities.

Problem is, you DON'T worry about that other stuff at all. Just the idea that some Caribbean peasant might have an extra banana on your wallet.

I worry about any government waste, whether it's military or food stamp. However this topic is about food stamps not military.

What about the revenue created by doing this?

They have to buy the barrels at $40 and ship them down there.

Barrel manufacturers/sellers, port security, dock workers, crews on the ships...

Lotsa folks benefit from this. That's the great thing about capitalism. It's basically creative "theft" that ultimately benefits someone.

Gotta love it!

Well at least they are sending food to their relatives with "their" benefits! At least it's not like that "Welfare Queen" Reagan described!

From a Reagan speech:

During his 1976 presidential campaign, Reagan would tell the story of a woman from Chicago’s South Side arrested for welfare fraud: ”She has eighty names, thirty addresses, twelve Social Security cards and is collecting veteran’s benefits on four non-existing deceased husbands. And she is collecting Social Security on her cards. She’s got Medicaid, getting food stamps, and she is collecting welfare under each of her names. Her tax-free cash income is over $150,000.”

Turns out the story was fabricated but anything that has to do with the poor gets you Cons relied up!
PS: Thanks for quoting a Conservative bias rag like Frontpage!

Yep, I don't like war or want to support it.
I'd sure rather pay to support people than contractors and the military and killing innocent people abroad.
