This is still a free country to work where you desire, correct ? Or did the law change where an individual is forced to work at a particular company.
You got it wrong, in America now when someone has a minimum wage job they don't have to try and find a better job, they just ***** and moan about a "living wage" and hope the government will make their employer give them a raise to do remedial work.

I have to agree with NmNita's and Oldhag's posts, they're pretty much spot on.

Maybe some of those dollar store jobs are the kind where public assistance people go to state employment agencies for, after all, we know those employees aren't the most knowledgeable or friendly.

Seems nobody has the patience and grit to slog their way up and out anymore. I believe, a lot of us here know that drill, but, more and more people just won't do that. I have worked some crappy jobs. Brutal, actually. I always made it out. Certain types of jobs are like that. High turnover. The companys expect that, and people are not anything but expendable. But, if you can't see that going in, and expect better, just because it's you, class dismissed.

Nothing gets handed out. People need to see that. But, attitudes have changed. I don't like seeing people treated bad. Used as a disposable asset. And I have. Been treated that way. One does what one has to, to survive, and anger at being treated second rate, can be used better to fuel a climb, than to expect someone to pull you up.

I really hate how they make you have to click for see the next item on the list in these stupid stories.

Every company could be on this list depending on the person and circumstances.

Meh, working in general sucks. Oh well, what are you going to do?

I would think working for a AT&T or Vorizon would be pretty bad. Corporate rules that make no sense and the combo of insane customers plus the fact your employer tries to milk every last penny from its customers.

It just "feels" horrible in those places.

Dollar General is interesting because that's how I knew right away that this country was landing in the dumpster. Dollar Generals began to spring up everywhere along with right wing ideology, a sign that poverty was increasing by leaps and bounds. Dollar Generals and Goodwills - the CURRENT landscape of our once-great country since the right wingnuts took over.

Obama has created so many new jobs that you'd think these stores would not be necessary.

I was NOT surprised to see Dollar General on the list. A few years ago I took a temp job there doing set up for a new store (I'm off summers due to working for a school district), and they fired me after three days. I wasn't FAST ENOUGH stocking my area. They'd empthy the trucks, dump the contents, and you had to dig through it for stuff for your area and have it done in one hour. Half the time was spent searching for the ONLY ladder in the place that 15 people had to share...

Somebody's bonus was at stake - they almost didn't make their grand opening. The 8:00 a.m. opening ended up taking place 7:30 that evening...

How could they not like micromanaging? Some of them must be Democrats who like the President, his wife and big government telling them what to do. I bet some of them are 20 somethings who still live with their parents who "micromanage" them and if any of them are college students who can't find a job in their field, they are used to the universities telling them what they can say and do.

Last week, husband and I went to a Walmart Super Center to pick up a few things. I grabbed a cart and he headed to the deli counter. About 30 minutes later I looped back to the Deli counter wondering what hole husband had fallen into. It was a mob of angry customers. The sole employee behind the deli counter
had taken off her apron and walked out the door. I missed all the fun. We decided to do without turkey and proceeded to the Check out.

None of the self serve stations were operational. The lines were long. I kept pushing the cart to aisle # 20 something. A guy was leaning on an end cap and I asked if the station was open, given the light was on.
No response although he did proceed to get behind the register.

Then came the bag of oranges. They would not scan and the guy goes bezerk- way off the deep end.
The bag finally scanned. Well, thank you baby Jesus.

The worst job in America must be managing a Walmart, smack dab in the middle of that whacked out general public and whacked out employees.

I occasionally shop at Walmart for the spectacle. I am never disappointed.
