And the Voting Rights Act of 1965 says that no state has the power to discriminate against certain groups (ethnic, racial, cultural, geographical, economic, age, sex, sexuality, etc.) when establishing voting rules and regulations.
It is the duty of the President and Justice Department to uphold the Voting Rights Act.
That is actually not really true in this case.
The process is someone files a law suite against the violating county and it is taken care of via the court system. Holder/Obama is not involved.
It's retaliation on the 26 law suits Texas has filed and it's FU attitude towards Obama.
Why did West, TX not get Federal Disaster Funds but the NJ and NY did after the hurricane ?
I believe the Obama administration's formal response was based on the fact that Texas was able finance the rebuilding on its own without federal assistance.
You would be wrong, but don't let that get in your way.
I'm wondering, why is it legal to requre me to show ID to purchase a gun?
Civil rights are being trampled by ID requirments, where is the outrage flordia.bob? Why isn't Holder rushing to my rescue? Why isn't Obama getting to the bottom of this atrocity?
... is picking up steam. The RWNJ run States have gone off the edge with the RW branch of SCOTUS... Justice Dept is looking to attack those that discriminate against voters due to race.
and us conservatives have no problem with that. we just want everyone who is a legal voter to have the right to vote, not people who are here illegally, or those that vote 3-4 times in on election cycle. one citizen one vote.
that's your dream...not reality. You can't name one state in which 'voters' voted 3or 4 times in an election cycle. your claim is unsubstantiated.
typical.
