Nonsense. I have disclosed that I am of mixed background. Neither do I identify with the term "black." Learn to understand and respect different identities.

"Mixed" is a term that is colloquially used to describe "black and white"

And given your name, my $2 says you are mixed with black

African, not black. Keep your color labels to yourself. And no, I am NOT mixed with white. The term "mixed" is used in many places and does not automatically mean white.

Actually, no. It depends... I check "other," if available.

For the record, there are also non-mixed people who are African descent who also check "other" for the same reason.

My wife is Dominican....and she is brown. She doesn't mark it off either. But only because she is stubborn

It has nothing to do with being stubborn. She is Dominican...and they are mixed people. "Black" tends to refer to a certain experience in the U.S., which is likely not hers. I agree with her and am dark brown. *shrug*

So white is an "experience" too?

Everybody is "mixed people" if you want to get serious about it. So then everybody should just put "other"

Ethnicity has no bearing on the attackers. They attacked her based on her appearance: her hair, skin & features. These traits do not resemble theirs. Racism is based on outward appearance more so than a persons ethnic background or nation of origin.

What's the fact? Puerto ricans aren't a race. Yeah. Puerto ricans are an ethnicity. So. Does that exclude Puerto ricans from having whites in this ethnicity or other races? No. So was she attacked because she was a white Puerto rican. Yeah! So it was racism. So where is your fact? Thank you for thinking this through that Puerto ricans have races with in them.
