Jesus was white Jewish and not African. Very racist of you and offending. Most Americans believe He is son of God. We all pay taxes..... So what? Jesus statues are cheap anyway, and private people could purchase them.
Based on where Jesus originated, the people from that area would suggest otherwise. The description of him was changed when Christianity spread northward to the Nordic and Pagan parts of Europe where images of Jesus were changed to match the people that lived in those areas, thus White Jesus was born.
^^ Africa is still a very diverse nation. Northern Africa is white. Jesus was middle eastern / Jewish, and his skin was white. Look at Jews today.... He looked like them. Being African does not mean being black.

You're the first person in this thread to bring up being black... That's very racist of you. Why do you see people in colors?
It's not racist. There are just as many theories suggesting that Jesus was African as there are suggesting otherwise. My point is that he's not American.
Many people fear that by placing Christian statues on public land, it may imply that the government is endorsing Christianity. The government should not participate in such irrelevance. You don't have to like America and the way the nation was formed. You don't have to live here either.
Do you really want your children growing up thinking that Jesus or Christianity is important in today's world? Look at the chart on the previous page.
Those theories are false made up by non-Christians. Northern Africa is white anyway, and Jesus was middle eastern & Jewish. Middle Eastern people, Israelis and Jews are white.
Who cares if government is endorsing Christianity? That chart is irrelevant. Faith has nothing to do with any of those bs.
I don't go to church, therefore I don't see it everywhere. Why do you need to place statues of your religion in every building you go to? Are you gonna forget what baby Jesus looks like if you don't have him everywhere to remind you?
I believe in Santa Claus, why not allow religious statues of him to be placed in our DMVs?
Also, why restrict the first amendment? What other amendments do you not like in our Constitution? Do you like the Constitution itself?
You don't need to go to church to see crosses or Christian symbols. You see them when people wear those, at church yards, some homes yard, and crosses outside churches in church property.
No, I will never forget Christ, but it is nice to have him everywhere. It brings comfort, safety and peace.

Again, you're racist white vs black comes out again. Who cares. Africa is Africa. Africa is not America. If Jesus was American, then we'd have something to talk about.
Those theories are as solid as all the non-sense in the bible that has been mis-translated hundreds of times.
The American people care. They don't want the government endorsing any religion. It makes it seem like Christianity is more important or more right than Hinduism, Buddhism or Islam. And that's false. We certainly don't want future generations of children thinking that. Do we?
The chart is only irrelevant in your opinion because it shows that religion has a negative impact on this nation. You can go ahead and ignore reality and believing nonsense. But don't push it on others. Especially not children.

Then wear him around your neck or better yet have him tattooed on your chest so he never leaves you.
Also, all those things you listed are all PRIVATE, not PUBLIC, and that is the way it should be with religion. I don't care about what fictional creature you worship.

The same applies to Islamic symbols and Allah or whatever the name of their god is. The same applies to Buddhism and Buddha.
