In Germany for instance the highest decile of taxpayers earn about 25% of all income and pay about 50% of all income tax revenue of the country. The other half is paid by the other 9 deciles below, who together earn 75% of all income.

Bracketed income tax rates are socialist!

Have you heard of public offering? There're companies that offer their shares for public ownership.

I think it's worked pretty well for the US so far.

I hate cars, what a waste of energy... You should have emulated the dense railroad network instead

Funny story: The US had streetcars and trolley systems all over the country, until GM bought up all those companies, closed them down, tore up the tracks and cables, and forced people to buy cars.

Capitalism! Monopolizing then destroying an industry to force consumers to pay more money for an inferior product.

I dont see why anybody would even have a discussion about a different system...

Take a look at Germany as an example... Socialized nation with lower unemployment rate than us, higher quality of life, much less or no poverty, and largest economy in Europe. They have 82 million people, still a lot.
I suppose most Americans have not lived outside of the USA in a socialist or democratic socialist country or have travelled extensively. Having that experience, can be a life-changing event and for an insightful and intelligent person, worldviews are re-examined.

Brainwashing becomes "brain cleaning" when one takes the time to study and learn of other cultures. Unfortunately, most people do not spring clean.
