Corporations answer to their shareholders. They are in business to make shareholders money. Buy some stock in your company if you want incentives. Many companies have stock purchase plans for that very reason. Now if your expecting to make it in life working at a fast food restaurant then I don't know what to tell you. It aint gonna happen especially if you have a family to support. Hell the government will hand you a loan to go to school to about anybody. Folks need to go do it and get a better job instead of running around screaming about a 100% pay increase. That is beyond ludicrous Hell even the Chicago teachers union didn't ask for that much. lol.

Building codes aren't done just to make buildings more expensive, they are there to make sure people are safe. People who are poor shouldn't have to choose between a place to live or safety. Good building codes save lives, especially in places where there are earthquakes and fires threatening houses. With a higher density you just get more people hurt and killed when things go wrong.

Medical care for some one who can't work because they were injured is a heck of a lot more expensive then building codes.

They also protect the homes around them. Do you really want a neighbors that builds an improperly secured roof that can fly off and hit your house during a wind storm, or catch fire from badly placed venting? Where is this liberty?

The most effective way to live in housing you can afford is to earn enough money to be able to afford it.

Will you pay thousands of dollars for peoples education? Education isn't free in America.

more illegal alien slave labor? "made in USA" but perhaps by a foreigner. Wish more people would enter the trades instead of hiding from life in a college.

No you take out a loan and pay it back like many folks have done. Somehow it's all supposed to be free now though. Just like everything else.

Only in a limited area(s). Unless conservatives can offer a better idea.

As conservatives are quick to point out, that is a bad idea and reduces liberty.

But there iis a way to resolve this issue while increasing liberty.

Create local zones where the housing standards are set at levels that minimum wage workers can afford to live in. This might mean higher density or relaxed code standards.

Many conservatives object to raising the minimum wage (and some to any minimum wage at all) but they never seem to offer a solution with which these workers could actually afford.
I have a better idea. Instead of trying to get the gov't to take care of you, take care of yourself.

What "better idea"? It's your life how bout you come up with a better idea instead of waiting for somebody to come along and fix everything for you with somebody elses money.
