I, sitting at my desk," said Snowden, could "wiretap anyone, from you or your accountant, to a federal judge or even the president, if I had a personal email".

US officials vehemently denied this specific claim. Mike Rogers, the Republican chairman of the House intelligence committee, said of Snowden's assertion: "He's lying. It's impossible for him to do what he was saying he could do."

But training materials for XKeyscore detail how analysts can use it and other systems to mine enormous agency databases by filling in a simple on-screen form giving only a broad justification for the search. The request is not reviewed by a court or any NSA personnel before it is processed.

A top secret National Security Agency program allows analysts to search with no prior authorization through vast databases containing emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals, according to documents provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden.

-Can search all emails
-Can search all facebook chats
-Can search for everything a user has searched for
-Can search all websites that a particular person visits
-Can find all people who visit a particular website
etc.

Nazi Germany only dreamed they could have tracked everyone this well...

Default More NSA domestic surveillance - XKeyscore

XKeyscore: NSA tool collects 'nearly everything a user does on the internet' | World news | theguardian.com

The reality is absolutely everything you do online is being monitored by the NSA, every email, every page you go to, every link you click, everything you buy, every text message you send, the complete contents of every phone call you make, EVERYTHING. That's not a conspiracy theory and it's sad that only the British media seems to be talking about this fact. NSA agents do not need any prior authorization to do complete searches including listening to phone conversations.

It's a complete violation of the constitution and it proves that the government apologists have lied to us yet again about just how invasive and all encompassing this illegal wiretapping and surveillance has become.

Remember how just last week the Republicans claimed this wasn't happening and how they shot down a bill to end this. Hell, at least the libertarian wing of the Republican Party (which is a tiny minority of that party's elected representatives) joined the liberals in trying to put an end to this. But it was the tea party people along with the "main stream" Republican representatives who invented excuses, blocked reform, and made sure this illegal activity kept happening.

Obama told us it's just a "moderate infringement" on our rights.
They are doing it to keep you safe from terrorists.

Since we are all suspected terrorists they have to monitor all of us 24/7/365.

It was the liberals and the libertarians while most of the tea party people (like Michelle Bachmann) invented excuses and claimed if you were against this sort of unconstitutional actions then you were "pro-terrorist". She literally said that.

Kinda sad...

This thread has 5 answers. The one on "Doubling McDonalds Worker Salaries Only adds 68 cents to Big Mac Cost" has 167. Both were basically created at the same time.
