Federal employees should eat their own cooking
It’s a good thing that members of Congress and their staffs will have to shop for coverage on the exchanges. It will give the people writing our laws some insight into the health-care system they have foisted upon the rest of us. But the subsidies they will receive—however justified—will partially insulate them from the degree to which Obamacare drives up the cost of individually-purchased health insurance.

Oh thats great- they get to experience the exchanges but do not have to pay what we pay for them.

Good thing they are experiencing the exchanges!!

As employeess of the fed govt, congress and their staffs have been insured through the federal gov't massive group policy. Repubs snuck a poisson pill into the ACA kicking all memebers of congress and their staffs off of that policy, forcing them to use the exchanges.

However another provision of ACA says if your employer OFFERS a health plan you cannot use the exchanges, and that your employer cannot reimburse you for what you spend on the exchanges.

So Congress and their staff are left in limbo -- they lose their coverage and cannot get reimbursed for the exchanges like you and I can.
This is not making an exception for them, the rule screwed them, now the repubs are pretending congress is getting some kind fo exemtion.

More lies, manipulation and heartless BS from the right.

Yup, but heck, it's worth repudiating faulty right-wing nonsense a second time.

My employer subsidizes my health insurance. There's nothing wrong with that.

If your employer offers insurance you are not eligible for subsidies, but you can still purchase on the exchange.
