To answer the original question, no - in 2016 Americans will be ready to elect the next eight-year Democrat to the office.

You can make any excuse you want but Romney lost after spending $1.2 billion to unseat the President. But that wasn't the point of the above poster. That point was that conservatives convinced themselves that Romney would win -- really no different than other view conservatives have that have them view reality through alternate universe glasses. However, in the case of the Romney defeat, reality wouldn't let them convince themselves he actually won.

There isn't anything more evident of that belief than the private plane traffic jam from all the plutocrats flying into Boston Airport to attend the Romney "victory" party.

No, Zero spent $1.2 billion to win the White House. Mr. Obama spent 1.0 billion to keep it. My source 2012 Presidential Race | OpenSecrets

If you want those "mindless drones" to vote for the Republican candidate (and you do, because otherwise the Republican party will lose the Presidency again), then perhaps you might stop insulting them. It's STUPID to continue to think that the people who disagree with you politically are all simpletons, and to put them down. You will NEVER persuade people you demean and try to bully.

Well insulting millions of Americans is right were conservatives live every day all day. Thanks for reminding us of the nasty nature of conservative understanding of the American public.

President Obama had about 4.5million fewer votes. I think in 2008 he received something like 69million, and in 2012 he received either 65.5million or nearly 66million votes.

That's true as well, but he still became the first President to win with more than 51% of the vote twice since FDR.

Gee, how many times have I seen the left demonize conservatives and call them names? Pot, kettle, black. There is one poster in here in particular under this topic that takes every chance she gets to insult the right. I haven't seen a civil response from her in years.

Yes, there are people of all political persuasions who do it. And civility would be better for everyone. But as I pointed out in my earlier post, it's conservatives who have lost the Presidency the past two elections, and who want to regain it. Conservatives are the ones who want to GAIN support. The strategy of demeaning and putting down the people they want to persuade to share their perspective, to support the conservative candidate, is a strategy that's doomed to failure. People don't like having their intelligence or motives insulted. Conservatives are trying to sell people on conservative IDEAS. That means that instead of offering up clever insults and not-so-subtle put-downs, they should be putting forth solid arguments for why their IDEAS are superior.
