How about a person dressed like a drug trafficking gang banger, walking towards children?
Haven't even been paying attention to the thread, have we?

But normal people with a lick of sense know that carrying a gun is no worse than carrying a hammer or saw, or driving a car.

OTOH there is something VERY wrong with pointing a gun at a stranger, which is what this guy did. (I don't know why that wasn't mentioned when the article was first printed.)
Guns are by far the weapons of choice not cars. Yes knives and other items are used in murders, those items are for the most part a necessity in our everyday lives.

I'd also like to point out, to those who aren't aware of what airsoft "toy guns" are...

One of these is a totally-legal airsoft toy that fires plastic pellets which you can buy off the internet for a couple hundred bucks, and the other is a federally-banned 9mm submachine gun used by special forces and SWAT teams around the globe:

As are guns. They are used far more for peaceful purposes (such as deterring crime without firing a shot) than for criminal purposes.

Thansk for pointing out the similarities.

When seconds matter and cops are minutes away make sure you have a car.

So, it's okay to gun down someone who's not carrying a weapon if you feel they're suspicious...

... but it's not okay to run down someone who's carrying a weapon that you feel is suspicious.

I just can't wrap my mind around the disconnect here. But then, I also can't wrap my mind around how people can love unborn babies and wax on about how they're "the future," but then hate them and think of them as "future criminals" once they're born.

it appears as the wanna be gun man pointed the wanna be weapon at the female car driver. If that is true she had every right to run the SOB down.

If it isn't true then she should get jail time.

We the people have the right to defend ourselves with what ever tools are handy. The wanna be gun man should not have pointed his toy gun at anyone.

Be an adult and point a toy gun at me you you will be 'Stopped'. If said gun turns out to be a toy it's gonna be one hell of a lesson. We the People are under no obligation to tell if a gun is real or a toy.

If my 4 year old grandson points a toy gun at me I am gonna fall down and pretend to die. After a while when i don't move and he comes over i am gonna jump up and scare the tar out of that little boy!

I'll make it easy for you to understand. When it comes to rights, the gun wins. Every time. Circumstances make no difference. If there is a gun involved, the rights of whoever is holding it automatically trumps the rights of everyone else. See how easy that was?
