Detroit is what you call an existential crisis for liberals. Full of unions, lots of minority neighborhoods, solidly Democrat. For 50 years. It is a microcosm of American liberalism. They have to find a way to blame conservatives for its failure.
When a city known nationwide as a Democrat bastion, and used as a plank of their president's campaign, then goes bankrupt that is a serious crisis for them. If they can't find a way to blame Republicans now, it is going to be a huge problem come 2016.
Detroit has the potential to be hung around their necks the same way they hung "read my lips: no new taxes" around the Republicans' necks back in 92.

Certainly this is not ENDEMIC to Detroit. There have been stories of flash mobs of urban youth raiding stores and causing havoc in other places all over America. I would bet my paycheck that every major city in America have such incidents within their city. What kills me is when people act like its something unique to Detroit. Maybe the store owner will move to the Inglewood neighborhood in Chicago and open up a store....since this only happens in Detroit.

True....but this thread is about it happening in Detroit. I don't think anyone claimed it only happens there. But what are we supposed to discuss when the story takes place there?
The fact that it happens all over the USA is indicative of the deterioration of our youth. Adults play a huge part in that trend.

Business and workers are symbiotic. So drive business out and you hurt yourself. No wonder why Obama hates small businesses. They don't make enough money to pay the government for protection and can help people from becoming dependent on government.
