For the third time in this thread: San Francisco has a goal of zero landfill waste by 2020. This ban on plastic bags is a part of that.

S.F. FIRST CITY TO BAN PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS / Supermarkets and chain pharmacies will have to use recyclable or compostable sacks - SFGate

And:

"The legislation, meant to reduce litter and waste-processing costs, requires all retail outlets top stop distributing single-use plastic bags in October.
...
"These bags end up as litter on our streets, as trash on our bay [and are] a costly nuisance in our waste processing system," said Christina Olague, a member of the Board of Supervisors."

I thought this thread was about the ban on plastic bags killing 5.5 people as researched by LAW professors.

No KU, it's about fake poutrage by the right, as usual.

well I am a pretty hard right guy with a tendancy to be acerbic so I can understand your reaction.... context and all...

This thread does however express some evidence of the law of unintended consequence.

What % of the landfill is composed of plastic bags? I'd bet heroin needles, old drag queen costumes and granola wrappers make up a higher percent. Is all that banned too?

SF should ban trash and be done with it. Seems simple enough...........to a liberal.

Do you think that the bans are a good idea?

Harrier has presented one very good reason why are not.

Tell us what you think and explain why, please.
I can't figure out what's worse. Your non-stop caveman views, your blanket statements that blame all things on liberal's, or your speaking in the 3rd person. Seek therapy. Seriously.

Harrier can't figure out what is worse: your seemingly inability to contribute relevantly to the thread, your obsession with Harrier's manner of referencing himself, or your inability to comprehend the TOS, a portion of which Harrier provides below for your edification, since you blatantly violated the rule against personal attacks by posting the bolded.

I've provided facts in previous arguments, you choose to ignore them. Then you cry about it when you get called out for your lunacy. There is no point in trying to engage in a debate with you, it's like arguing with a child. I knew as soon as I posted in this thread you'd go running to the moderators for help.

I also think it's humerous that you have nearly 20K posts, yet your rep is less than 5K. Just goes to show, even people on the far right rarely agree with you.
