LOL You really live on planet Mars, don't you. Our economy, our debt, foreign relations, the entire Mid East, immigration, and on and on and on... are all in the toilet under this president's leadership. I'm just taking a break from the important things that Obama's policies are destroying, by talking about this topic.
Compared to everything else Obama is doing, his flipping the bird to America with his lavish jet-setter attitude and wasteful personal entertainment expenses, with taxpayer money, is minor, very minor. All this topic is, is an exercise into the window of his narcissistic, unsympathetic mind.
Did Bush flip the bird too?
Quote:
President George W. Bush spent over 124 million taxpayer dollars on trips to his ranch in Crawford, TX, and using John Boehner’s logic we demand that the GOP pay us back.
Bush didn't need to reserve the entire floor of a hotel, transport 50 vehicles (I believe it was 76 for Obama's trip to Africa (which, by the way his safari had to be cancelled because they didn't know how to coordinate his security while out in the bush, as well as having a medical ship on standby if someone fell ill or fell down and got a booboo), transport 20 of his daughters friends, bring along 20-30 SS agents and put them up in hotels and feed them.
All in all, the cost to transport Bush was minimal compared to the cost for Obama's vacations for family and friends. The only thing provided to Bush was transport and I'm sure he provided his own food.
Yes, spending almost an entire year, in total, away from the White House must have been really cheap.
Keep telling yourself whatever you have to avoid any cognitive dissonance in your conservative alternative reality.
What was the cost of building the compounds? Combined, I bet it didn't cost a fraction of what Obama just spent on his trip to Africa.
Most certainly the government removed all their equipment when their terms ended and now it's just an extension of the house and probably looks like any other office that you would find in a home or in an office building.
How about what Bush spent dragging half his family to Bejing for the Olympics? Anyone can play this "tit for tat" game.

Yes, he wanted to honor some war dead in (gasp!) Chicago instead! It it more honorable to the almighty to be buried in Arlington instead of in a national cemetery in Chicago?
...which ended up being a savings to the people, as opposed to taking dozens of lavish vacations abroad.
What vacation did Obama take "abroad"? Hawaii doesn't count; it's in the US.

I always love these comments that include "I'm sure". How are you sure? Provide some documentation!
Another fabricated outrage to feed the forgetful minds of the right wingers who are looking desperately for new ways to criticize Obama.
I was pointing out that the "outrage" YOU mentioned was misplaced.
I don't know why the outrage over his not attending the service. I think people would be used to his disrespect for anything America, especially our military.

Transparency of costs was not an issue, until Obama.
The SS continues to guard the residences and escorts travel of all living presidents.

It was the lying Glen Beck who said that Obama was missing the ceremony at Arlington b/c he was on vacation. He actually went to a national military cemetery in Elmwood Illinois.
Obama Not the 1st President to Miss Memorial Day at Arlington - Political Hotsheet - CBS News Obama Not the 1st President to Miss Memorial Day at Arlington Radio and TV talker Glenn Beck (on May 25) said, "Obama is skipping out on a Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington Cemetery because he'll be in Chicago on vacation." On his show, Beck incorrectly asserted that the president "has decided not to honor our troops on Memorial Day." . . . Mr. Obama will participate today in a ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, about 50 miles south of Chicago. He is not the first president to be away from Washington on a patriotic holiday. . . The critics were either ignorant of the facts or they failed to mention the 2007 Veterans Day ceremony when Vice President Dick Cheney spoke while President George W. Bush observed the holiday in Texas.
