They are both tools...I don't play the false dilemma game with Presidents...why would I play it with VP's??
It's also not really a false dilemma, because the chances of Palin becoming "President by default" were higher than Biden (even if you subscribe to the idea that he's dumb, which he is not).... Obama is/was a young man with chances of keeling over a fraction of that of McCain at the time.
