I think that its great that Gay couples feel comfortable enough to act freely, just as straight couples do. (to a cirtain point that is, on both parts.)
If I saw two homosexuals being affectionate - it'd be no different in my eyes than two heterosexuals being affectionate.
I don't understand the big-to-do with homosexuality. I've got gay friends, lesbian friends. In fact, one of the longest relationships I've seen amongst my peers (mind you, I'm only 20) was my friend and her girlfriend. Six years now.
I would remember what my mama taught me , If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all, then I would have a different conversation with my son later!
I dont care what consenting adults do at home in the privacy of their own bedroom. None of my business.
However, I don't like it forced upon me. I don't dislike gays, I could care less what they are about. But don't rub my nose in it.
I get annoyed when I see hetero teenagers doing the same thing. Show some class and keep it private.
Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference, The Times has learnt.
Mohsen Yahyavi is the highest-ranked politician to admit that Iran believes in the death penalty for homosexuality after a spate of reports that gay youths were being hanged. ...
Quote:
Mr Yahyavi, a member of his parliament’s energy committee, was unflinching. He “explained that according to Islam gays and lesbianism were not permitted”, the record states. “He said that if homosexual activity is in private there is no problem, but those in overt activity should be executed [he initially said tortured but changed it to executed].
After living in NYC and San Francisco, I don't even look twice at this.
Honestly I think we Americans should feel more comfortable about public affection, people look at my wife and I for kissing in public sometimes or hanging over each other, they look at us like "OMG You should not be doing that in public".
Who cares? Maybe if people hugged and kissed more often we would all be less stressed out.
Actually, it was just yesterday when I faced the situation of an openly gay couple out in public. I was walking next to a basic brother when we both saw that the two women in front of us on the downtown sidewalk were holding hands. He looked at me, sorta laughed and said: "Live and let live." Then we gave each other the peace sign, he got on his bus and I went off to my part-time job.
In the big city you can see folks urinating in the alleys, scratching lice and all other sorts of errands. Either me or my kids seeing a same sex couple is not something that will bring a cringe response.
But then he would have acted that way watching a st8 couple kiss also..
LOL. It must be the age. My 6 year old would have done the same thing.
As for the original question, it wouldn't matter to me whether the couple was straight or gay. I think your response to your child was appropriate and would have worked in any situation where there was PDA involved.
