Naw, the US lost it's credibility when we invaded Iraq, then convinced some of our allies it was a good idea. We just never got it back after that.

The US has been missing it since Carter was President in relation to Iran. Every President (R & D) since then has tripped over their own feet since then. Not one President since then has learned that American style diplomacy does not work in the Middle East.
