I hate when idiocy comes in and ruins a great discussion.
There's a lot of great points that have been made in this thread.
There's been many studies that have exposed the biases in our judicial system. It only takes a scroll through some of these threads to recognize that racism (and a host of other issues) are still not resolved in our country.
Are you serious? This looks like a bunch of nonsense post to me. "Superficial culture"? "Mindless consumption"? "Class prejudice"? I don't even know what any of that means.
I know it confounds you. Pick up a dictionary and concentrate hard. Really hard.
And what criminal offenses are the ones that usually put black men behind bars? Drug offenses. What a colossal waste of lives and public resources. Not difficult to figure out what effect it has on blacks when so many black men are locked up for the better part of their most productive years for dope offenses.
Have you noticed that the right-wingers who are on here who are suddenly crowing about 4th and 5th Amendment rights have little to say about "stop and frisk" in NYC? See, they only care about such things when they think it will affect them. When it's those dirty Negroes or any of the myriad other groups they don't like, not only are some indifferent, many are fully behind trampling on their Constitutional freedoms.

If blacks, whites, browns, and greens were smart, they'd research the Libertarian mantras.
DRUGS are an excuse to feed the corporate prison system that both parties are in the pockets of. It's a billion-dollar business, and feeds the greed of unscrupulous politicians, lawyers and judges.
Wake up, and acknowledge the reality of the greed that is driving both sides!
