The dog was not shot, also, if the dog attacked the police officers, they have the right to defend themselves. Again, the police are liable because they were at the wrong location. But that in and of itself is not brutality

Sounds like they need to be stripped of their badges. It seems it would behoove them to read and understand the warrant before busting into the wrong house and terrorizing a bunch of kids.

killing the dog= brutality

And your point about defending themselves against the dog;
If an intruder breaks into a home a shoots a dog, can they claim self defense?

The kids that were in this place see and deal with worse then this. So you do admit the problem is the wrong location not what the police did?

In Illinois yes they can. Just like if an intruder breaks into a home and the homeowner shoots them, they can be charged with murder

So if a pitbull is attacking you and trying to kill you, you don't think it is okay to kill it?

Even, small town police forces are becoming more rigid and separated from the public than they used to be.

Maybe brutality is the the wrong word, but this happens way too often because LE has no liability. They make "mistakes" with impunity.

The only way to stop it is to hit them in their pocketbooks. They should award this family a large sum and charge it to these LE's pension plan.

The other way is to eliminate or reduce their SWAT gear. Too many LE agencies are buying military equipment. So once you buy a few million dollars worth of SWAT gear, you have to use it.

And finally, if we would end the useless war on drugs LE would have very little reason to do these violent raids.

I agree it should hit their pocketbooks. Trust me though, if you were on the SWAT team in this neighborhood, you would want and even need the gear.
