I have never read of Jews or Muslims or whoever demonstrating against the phrase "Merry Christmas."
Wasn't it a Rabbi that wanted the Christmas Trees out of the airport last year or he was going to sue the airport? Christmas trees say Merry Christmas to me.

Christmas trees came straight from the pagan traditions.

If you're going to steal, steal from the best.

Bill O'Reilly wasn't the only one reported on this, there were federal lawsuits filed over this as well. Texas is not the only state where these type things have been happening.

Think about it...the world isn't all about christans and what they find comfortable.

I celebrate Christmas, I LOVE Christmas and the holiday season, I was raised Catholic....I also possess critical thinking skills and respect other's belief systems; which is something that many Christians have a hard time doing for some reason.
If the Kwanzaa napkins were at a African-American celebration why would I have a problem with that?

On the other hand why should anyone have a problem with Red and Green napkins at a Christmas celebration.

The only problem I think the Christians have with this is, other people are trying to take away their right to celebrate Christmas as they wish. Maybe these people should show a little respect for their belief and wishes.

No I hate that day, I wish I could work and get double time though, then I would like Christmas

1) Most celebrations of Christmas are ritual acts that have nothing to do with Christ and more to do with Pagan and local customs.

2) Happy Holidays (the season starting from Halloween through New Years), is something useful to marketers (who are looking for your $$$) and it is useful to everyone who sees this three months wirlwind a bit hard to keep up with. Hey, in my neck of the woods, we went from Pumpkins in the windows to Santa. (What happened to Thanksgiving? My favorite holiday)

What does Santa have to do with Christ anyway? Or colored lights?

Get a grip. The only people who are really politicizing this (on a national level) are Republicans who are trying to yet again, create another trivial wedge issue to distract voters from caring about issues that really matter.

Removing references to something is the same as promoting ignorance. We should be educating people about the different religions and customs that there are out there, not taking them away.

Regardless of the ritual acts and there lack of meaning towards Christ, the day is about celebrating the birth if Jesus. If you don't believe, why would you be interested in taking away something that is supposed to celebratory or happy for some people?

And to blame this on Republicans is just foolish.

How dare anyone interfere with the winter consumer orgy? Who cares what your religion is so long as you get out there and BUY-BUY-BUY!

Preferably on credit cards so we can sock you with 20-30% interest!

4"L's" is on a distinguished road
I think the reason people get worked up is because in some work places, schools, etc. we are told NOT to use the word at all. We are told to use other words such as "Happy Holidays" so we don't offend anyone. That is what offends me, I want to be able say MERRY CHRISTMAS if I choose!

I cannot imagine going through life trying to not offend anyone. I will be me and say what I please (Merry Christmas or happy Holidays whatever) when I please to. Sometimes I am really trying to be offensive but not that often.

So, during this holiday season be cheerful, say what you please and save you money for the January sales.
