Are you suggesting that every nation that celebrates Christmas should give it up?
Really? And, why would you think that Jesus would be "noting more then a glorified David Koresh"? Jesus preached peace. And love of fellow man. And Kindness.
So did the Buddha.... Martin Luther King, Ghandi and countless others.
You realize if the holiday was eliminated, so would the school vacations, the parties, the parades, the presents, etc. No Christmas bonus, no nothing. Get back to work!
And who decided to make one a "national holiday," and not the others?? Ummmm, probably Christian politicians and citizens... Don't punish us simply for living in a Christian-dominant society, where our holidays are referred to as "celebrations." Now the High-Holy Days (Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur) are undoubtedly important, significant religious holidays - yet you don't see us trying to dominate the entire month of September, do you?

Even the atheists would hate that. Especially when everyone found out that their bleatings gave us the extra workdays.

Your right and it's certainly a good way to look at things...but in the same, I don't want to be TOLD what I can say....
In otherwords, whatever works for you is fine, but don't take words that I grew up with out of my mouth and spirit....yanno?
And I do believe its an insult to someone's belief and personal culture to do that....
