I say again, westerners tend to make excuses for children. Our society, at least the liberal part of it, hates holding anyone responsible for anything never mind children. We are reaping what we have been sowing for decades and it is going to get worse. Of course it will be denied because there are no "studies" to prove anything, but children watch violent movies, play violent video games and become inured to pain and suffering. Their level of empathy is non-existent. We are in big trouble in this nation.
Seems excessive to me. A 13 year old is barely into adolescence. His brain is not fully developed yet. And nobody at 13 is a hardened career criminal. Although I agree not everyone can be, this seems like a good example of someone who really could be rehabilitated.
BS... send the dumb fuc* away. He lost his chance to live in society by hacking up Grandma. No need to subject society to this scum.
I think 13 is borderline because that is around the time abstract thought becomes possible. In this case, it looks like the kid did have the capability, making him culpable. In that case, life sounds good to me.
