Muslim Brotherhood calling for revenge against the Christians... except the Christians have nothing to do with anything that's happening in Egypt. If anything, it's the violence toward the Coptic Christians that outraged the moderate Muslim population.

We should be backing the Egyptian military! Our media isn't reporting the true events in Egypt. They're covering up the atrocities of the MB in Egypt (and elsewhere) which led up to Morsi being tossed.

too bad we got mixed up in this mess to begin with. I know that doesn't address the thread point but, what the hell do we do now?

This feeling exactly the same as when Carter injected himself in Iran. We're still going to pay dearly for that.

Fair enough. So, what do we do now?

Actually, that whole mess started during the Eisenhower administration.

Default No surprise.

Those Christians and their persecution complex. The violence is all made up in their paranoid heads.

Media Downplays Anti-Christian Violence In Egypt
For some reason I know all about a rodeo clown, Nixon's tapes from over 40 years ago, and a typo on a Tea Party candidate's campaign website, but as Newsbusters points out, "In the media’s wall-to-wall Egypt coverage, one important facet of the ongoing crisis has gotten short shrift: the deadly plight of that nation’s Christians."

Newsbusters reports that, in retaliation for backing the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood's Morsi, Islamists have targeted upwards of 80 Christian schools, churches and convents. Looting, arson, and the targeting of Christians for beatings and murder are now rampant.

The media, however, yawn.

This isn't surprising. The media only report on what offers them a political upside. And because the media is mostly made up of secular leftists hostile to the Christian faith, they are loath to do any reporting that might put that faith in a sympathetic light. Or, Gaia forbid, portray Christians as victims.

The media are agenda-driven, not information or scoop or money or morality driven. They are happy to help President Obama and Al Sharpton manufacture a feeding frenzy out of a race hoax surrounding the fatal shooting of a black teenager in Florida. But only because there is plenty of political upside in that frenzy. The left thrive on racial division, love any excuse to push gun control, and know they need to distract from the failure of Obama's economic policies.
