And practically speaking, the populace cannot have possess rocket launchers and nerve gas. By the way, Germany had fairly extensive gun ownership during Hitler. He didn't need to take everyone's guns to become what he was.

In fact, since (according to you people) the only way to reduce crime is to encourage gun ownership, and since young black men are by far the most frequent victims of gun murder on a per-capita basis, they should be ENCOURAGED to buy and carry guns -- the more and the bigger the better.
