What are your thoughts on this, everyone?

My thoughts are that we don't have any evidence that the last time everyone sat down are started drawing new maps that it worked out so well. The Kurds were totally left out and the rest has been in conflict every since. Iraq, Lebanon, Syira, Jordan, Israel, Libya, Tunisia ...... which one of these is a great success and beloved by the rest of the world? The Brits and the UN tried that "each have their ethnic and religious group" business a couple of times - Israel is a great example of that. It's not about "each having a place", it's about forcing others to bow to a religious doctrine and conquering them to do so.
As for the "new map of Syria" that is shown ..... only the Alawites win in this one - They get the coast. The Kurds at least get the country they were promised years ago, so I guess that's a "win". .
It's the fall-back position for the Butcher of Damascus has always been the coast and a link to Lebanon. Rivers and water always play a big part in this map re-drawing business.
Best everyone stays out of it and let them fight it out now, just as they have done for centuries.
We could have made a difference in the very beginning of Syria, but that window was fairly short.
Life is all about the timing and missed opportunities. We will live with these "missed opportunities for generations.
