Schools seem to be turning into prison like places.
And the "evolution" continues.

Drug sniffing dogs walking the hallways, locker checks for weapons/drugs, metal detectors at doors and now armed guards patrolling the halls.

And you want to send your 5 year old off to a place like this every day for the next 13 years ?

Wait--didn't you all WANT armed guards at schools (plus armed teachers, after Newtown?) Now it's turning them into a prison? Now you're complaining about it?

I can't keep up.

No we didn't. I said schools were already turning into prisons during that debate.
And the President even wanted to pay armed guards at school with Federal dollars.

Yes, I disagree with the President and this administration that there should be armed guards in K-12 schools.

Obama On Guns: School Police Should Be Funded By Federal Government, But Not Required
According to guidelines released by the White House in advance of Obama's speech Wednesday, schools that want to have armed guards will be supported in that pursuit, but schools won't be pushed to staff them. The plan calls for the creation of 1,000 new "school resource officers," which the White House describes as "specially trained police officers that work in schools," and mental health professionals to "help prevent school crime and student-on-student violence."

And yet ... how else can we protect our children from American terrorists, now that we're awash in guns, and the American people are fully convinced that the wild west is a fun way to live?

No, I certainly don't. But the gun lobby has won.

Sane people understand that it's too late, because the gun lobby has completely brainwashed enough Americans into believing that Obama's black helicopters or roaming armies of home invaders are right around the corner ... so that the gun companies are enjoying record profits and sales, and there are enough guns lying around to make it easy for every whacko in the country to get one.

Add to that the NRA's open lobbying for guns in schools -- more sales, right? -- and we're doomed unless we give in to the new reality, brought to you by Big Gun and the NRA.

Why haven't you mentioned the President and his administration regarding armed guards in schools.
Obama is for this and I just posted an article where Obama called for using Federal dollars to arm the schools.

So you have the NRA and Obama both agreeing on armed guards in schools.
The NRA does not have near the power and authority to allow it as they are just a lobbying group.
The President, on the other hand, has power, authority and money to make it happen and allow it.
