I am just questioning your support of Obamacare?
A law that is in reality a right wing dream of empowering insurance companies and crony capitialist ambitions.
I believe in picking your battles. ACA was the worst reform proposal that had any chance of passing due to right-wing obstruction in the Democratic and Republican parties. ACA would have been much better, and have had real cost control measures if the public option (I'll call it Medicare for all) was included. That would have forced the private insurers to lower their prices, or go out of business. ACA as it stands now provides no long-term cost control measures. It's built-in obsoleteness, which I think is a good thing because most right-wing Americans and politicians will not support expanding Medicare unless there is real motivation to do so
The Republican senators leading the quixotic charge to defund Obamacare and risk a government shutdown will headline an event next month to rally support for their cause.
Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rand Paul (R-KY) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) will headline the "Exempt America from Obamacare Rally" on Sept. 10 on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Other conservative lawmakers like Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Paul Broun (R-GA) will also participate in the event.
The rally, scheduled to be held the day after Congress resumes following its August recess, is being organized by a number of conservative outfits such as ForAmerica and Tea Party Patriots. The Brent Bozell-run ForAmerica recently likened Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to a chicken for resisting the efforts to defund Obamacare, underscoring the divide in the GOP on the issue.
Go ahead, guys, shut the government down when you don't get your way. That strategy has worked so well for your party in the past.
Unfortunately for them, neither defunding the ACA nor a government shut down is likely to happen, and Cruz is smart enough to know that. This is nothing more than political posturing to get some cred with the far right for the future.
It is Barack's decision to shut down the government, NOT the GOP.

I'm sure that's what they'd tell their Tea Party constituents. And I'm sure the Tea Partiers would believe it. They've already proven they're not the sharpest tools in the shed. But the majority of the other 92% of the country won't buy it. Why do you think mainstream Republicans (those would be those pesky RINOs) are against a government shut down? They know better.
Wow, they got a whopping...several dozen people to turn up for this rally, most of whom were old people who are already on Medicare, so they have no dog in this fight. What a massive bust. How embarrassing for Cruz and Paul.

Will the rally defund ACA, or do they have a Plan B?
Will the rally defund ACA, or do they have a Plan B?
Well, the rally was a major bust, but not to fear! The GOP DOES have a plan B, and it's a doozy!
"Under the plan, the House would vote on a “clean” continuing resolution that includes a separate House concurrent resolution defunding the Affordable Care Act, according to a Republican leadership aide. The rule governing debate on the bill would state that the House clerk could not send the spending bill over to the Senate until the Senate votes up or down on the resolution withholding funds from the healthcare law.
If the Senate were to vote down the healthcare resolution, as expected, the CR would move to the upper chamber and could be passed and signed by President Obama without returning to the House."
Wow, they're going to force the Senate to vote down a resolution to defund the ACA before sending them a clean CR to pass. That will show 'em!
“Boehner has cooked up a bait and switch to give the Senate a hall pass to fund Obamacare while pretending not to,” Dean Clancy, the vice president of health care policy at the conservative activist group FreedomWorks, told TPM. “We oppose this kind of parliamentary trickery. … This is a grand betrayal that they’re cooking up here. They think they can baffle and confuse people, but we’re going to make sure they don’t succeed.”
Clancy said FreedomWorks, which has a large war chest and boasts millions of members, will downgrade lawmakers on their scorecard if they vote for any continuing resolution that permits funding of Obamacare, including the procedural vote that the GOP has proposed. Instead he and other conservatives want the GOP to stand firm and demand that President Barack Obama agree to defund his signature legislative achievement.
So, today was the BIG day for the anti-Obamacare rally.
How come it isn't in the headlines?
Oh... what's that?
The big rally drew a roaring crowd estimated in the dozens!
