Should a pork processing plant be forced to hire a Muslim who refuses to touch pork?
In leftie utopia, it makes perfect sense to open a small cow brain processing plant within their business in order to appease them.
You make no sense , who ever said anything about hiring Muslims, ? if one applied for the job, than it must not bother then to work in a packing plant, right ? No one is proposing some kinda forced work on anyone. That I though we got rid of after slavery in southern cotton fields, long ago.... Please leave politics out of this, its non partisan, or, if it is, than you would say, hire someone based on their political persuasion ? Would not surprise me at all.....
You would think being from the U.P. where depressed economies are the norm that you would
get it!
Well it is here in the UP also. Marquette County has a shortage of skilled blue color workers, did you know that ? , and maybe because of our growth or the season, not sure, there are signs in almost every service job place, looking for help. Move over to the next county west, and its a different story.....check things out before you pass judgements.
If you want a good laugh to see the deer caught in the headlights stare if the total is $7.50 give them a $10 and $2.50.
How's about this one:
Order a burger with nothing on it (a dry burger).
End up with a bun with "nothing on it"..not even the burger.
I had the entire line of customers chuckling when I went back and said my meat was missing from my burger. Girl said "But you ordered a burger with nothing on it". I said yes..that meant no condiments, not no meat.
This was back when they did grill the burgers.
Having worked there as a teen, the way to get a fresh burger was to order it dry and fries with no salt got you fresh fries as well.
You do not have a clue, but I do see your reasoning not that I approve.. What these people are tring to do is brink up the wage and worth of the fast food service worker. This no not a strike as we know it, it is amovement.
The wage and worth of the fast food service worker is exactly where it should be. There is no skill set required, no education required, and no reason to pay them more than minimum wage. Once again, these are starter jobs that are meant for people who do not have normal living expenses.
As for it being a movement, it is a movement that will quickly fall apart. The only thing people are going to manage to do by walking out of a job at a fast food place and demanding to be paid more than people with a 2 year college degree is to open up jobs for the next batch of people. Every fast food restaurant has a stack of applications 2 inches thick. All they have to do is start making phone calls and there will be new trainees starting tomorrow. Every single one of these people is replaceable, and the replacements only need about 2-4 hours of training in order to perform their jobs. Faced with the choice of paying all of their employees $15 an hour or replacing all of their employees with people who are willing to work for half that amount the managers will take the smarter economic choice, which is to hire all new people.
I worked fast food for about 3 years as a teenager. Not once during that 3 years did I consider making it a career or attempting to get married and raise kids on that sort of pay. I didn't even consider moving out on my own while I was working fast food, because I knew that I couldn't afford it. Which is exactly the situation these people are facing now. They can't afford to raise a family on these jobs because these jobs were never meant as a major source of income for a family. What part of that is so hard to understand?
Apparently im not understanding your point. Either that or you are talking in cirlces, moving the goal posts and making coherent discussion impossible. I spent my entire working life as a blue collar worker in Delta county. I know more about the economics of upper Michigan than you will ever hope to. Stop with the slippery evasive double talk and make your point clear so i can either agree or make a counter point
Please
