Obama's not alone, there's a few republicans beside him, maybe a few dems., but, I'd be surprised if he sent any troops there, outside of the ones we might already have there, you know, the usual top ranking military advisers helping with the rebel cause, and outside of a few clandestine CIA and operatives neither of us has heard of before.

Mmm.. Hundreds thousand dead over few years hasn't made Obama talk about military action. Fifteen hundred people killed by gas made him talk. Obama is talking about doing a heck of a lot more than just invading their air space. He's talking about taking military action.
As to what I've heard from news-internet, he never proposed boots on the ground. I don't know where you're getting your 411 from.
