We all know the labor particaption rate is down, to 1979 levels as your quote states....

The peak of boomers retiring is 2030...not 2013.

13,000 turn 18 every day.

Immigration (legal and illegal) are bringing in youth and people having large families.
Then expect a lot more Americans to be retiring in the future.

In 2011, the first of the baby boom generation reached what used to be known as retirement age. And for the next 18 years, boomers will be turning 65 at a rate of about 8,000 a day.

We are looking at almost 18 million people will be retiring in just the next 4 years, and not everyone who turns 18 enters the workforce, many go to college. Yes, immigration has been also a factor, and yes we do have a serious issue with unemployment with young people due to a number of factors. The average age of a fast food worker is about 28yrs old, and many jobs for teens have been replaced with machines and do-it yourself checkouts.

Then I completely missed your point about not agreeing with JP Morgan and your response to that post?

forget it because your wrong

do you really want the numbers????? can you handle them????........they dont help your agenda.....

the fact remains:
number of people turning 65 on a DAILY BASIS....10,000
number of poeple turning 18 on a DAILY BASIS....13,000

the workforce """should""" be increasing

and many people 65 are putting off retiring because of economic issues......and seniors dont retire precisely at 55, 65, 67, or 80
some retire at 55..some will retire at 70....some will still be working (or need to) at 80

BLS counts working age as 16-65

there are 20,219,890 that are 15-19 in the usa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_th...emocracy_Class

the FACT is you have 13,000 people turning 18 every day..and 10,000 turning 65 every day

so the arguement that 10,000 boomer(65+) retire everyday is NULLIFIED by the fact that over 13,000 turn 18 every day

How about 11,680,000 in the next 4 years..

8,000 x 365 = 2,920,000

2,920,000 x 4 = 11,680,000

Just an estimate of course....

what does that have to do with my statement? You do realize young adults arent counted in unemployment stats right?

I never said it was ALL because of retirees. People on this forum feel like they can write a discertatiom on your political philosophy because they read an 8 word sentence you posted. Stop assuming...
