All my life I have believed we must fight evil, and I lost friends fighting it, but now I am told was none of our business.......
No war since since WWII has been any of our business. They have had nothing to do with Democracy or protecting America, although that has been the pretext. The truth is that they have been entered into for trumped-up reasons to make wealthy men into VERY wealthy men.
we live in fascinating times. I'm so glad to be an American. We the people are finally waking up. Libertarians, conservatives, liberals, progressives. We all have more in common than what they'd like us to believe and we're finally starting to see through the lies we've been fed. Seeking truth will be our saving grace.

What lies? The question is whether or not US should continue to fight evil, or if we can simply call is "none of our business" and withdraw within our borders. The "none of our business" attitude may well win the Congress, and so be it, but I think it will be a matter of conscience for many Americans.
This old quote seems to be out of fashion: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

The way things are looking now, I think the vote might pass Senate, but will nor pass House.
One can only hope the House holds firm with a no vote.
In regards to your earlier vote. Who defines what is evil? How much of the evil in the world today are we at least a party too?
When one of our allies levels a city block without regard to collateral damage and we turn a blind eye, is this not evil?
When we use drones to attack a target and and a dozen children are killed is this not evil?
To date the President has not presented any real evidence as to who used the chemical weapons. His word would not be good enough in a court of law. It should not be good enough to wage war.
Why must it always be the USA that does the dirty work? We have seen far worse slaughter and turned a blind eye. Why is Syria so important?
The cost to attack Syria is money we dont have. Wouldn't it be better for our nation to not waste even 1 tax dollar needlessly?
I don't live in Chicago and I read about murders everyday there. I feel it is horrible but I don't saddle up and drive out there to hunt thugs. Why? Because no one made me the Sheriff. Well no one made the USA the worlds sheriff either.
I love how much of the left is not protesting this like they did Iraq. Imagine Bush wanted to attack Syria? I mean, I hated Bush more than any other president, but I must admit that many of these so-called liberals are complete hypocrites.
He's just going to have to go this alone to stand side by side with the extremists to take Assad down.
