I think they will vote NO, the House I expect a 225-235 no votes. Obama never has to face implications of this war, while especially House members will be running for re-election with no finalized outcome, and in an unsure middle east, while 2/3rds of the Senate doesn't need to run until the dust would clear (hopefully)
You hit the nail on the head when stating that the House is up for re election and you can bet they are looking at polls. You have to figure is it better for the leaders too stick their neck out or leave Obama with his limp d*** blowing in the wind? It 's a no brainer, but my clairvoyant powers are hit and miss.
The house will vote no, how close I don't know, but I can guarantee you Obama will be really pissed!!!! Of course if it is really close, you know who will get blamed? Who he will blame if it isn't close remains to be seen.
Based on the British Parliament vote, opinion polling, and gut instinct about the House members, my guess is that it will be a close no vote. That's just a guess - I wouldn't bet on it.
Boehner won't be able to get enough Republican votes to have a majority "Aye" or "Nay" without Democrat support. Feeling the heat from the Tea Party, Boehner will make some excuse and then punt. Obama will then invoke his authority under the War Powers Act to engage in a 60 day campaign against Assad.

They'll vote depending on how much defense contractors have contributed to their campaigns. Generally speaking though, they've been successful at setting up one conflict after another.
This is a serious situation, but amusing to observe. If Obama pushes for a human rights-driven intervention, he is a despot. If he does not, he is a coward. The wingers get outrage points everytime, even as they do nothing to lead our country themselves.
Close No, most of the democrats will vote however Obama wants, most of the republicans and some of the dems will listen to the polls that show the people are against it.
