AMELIA, Ohio -- Nancy Bronner said, even at the age of 15, her son knew he wanted to be cremated.

When T.J. Mitchell died at 17 of cardiomyopathy last September, there was no question among the Amelia family members how his body would be handled.

Sounds like Walmart makes pretty good plastic bags.

I would not want to go out in a Walmart bag either. When I am cremated (and that is my preferred option too) I would want to go out in a Bartell Drugs bag. It's a local chain of pharmacies in Seattle. Best shopping bags ever, made of a tough, thick plastic.

First off what is disrespectful about this? Would it have been more respectful if the kids ashes were spread out amongst four Glad sandwich bags?

Second, it must have been a real real slow day at WCPO Cincinnati to publish a story that's over a year old.....

As per the article:

But what Bronner discovered shortly after her son's funeral still disgusts her a year later.
The only bad thing I see here is that the Walmart bags are biodegradable so the kids ashes would have dissolved over the years...

Thank the greenies for this. Paper would have been a better way to go but that just isn't good for the tree's and all.

I am having a fiscal conservative send off, my ashes will be in a glad bag that is put inside a box my mom bought at a garage sale for a buck. The box to be engraved adds another 15 bucks so for less then a twenty I am ready to go.

Not choosing the regular burial in a cemetery and religious service, what does she expect? She follows the unbiblical and unGodly way.m

You have to admit, that's pretty tacky.
Even cremations cost enough so that the charge should cover a new plain bag.

My dogs got better treatment. Their ashes are placed in a clear bag in a beautifully carved box with a gold name plate on the top. Also given to me was a lovely poem in a card to honor them.
