This is terrible. Thoughts and prayers for all affected.

On another note, why is this in the politics and other controversies section?

How to curb School violence is a controversial subject.
It is getting out of hand; whether it is mental instability in students who are not getting the attention they need or bullied kids out for revenge or gang activity in schools.

It's funny, that reminds me of an incident that happened in the mid 1970s when I was in 5th grade. There was this one kid who was the school trouble maker. He was smoking by the time he was in third grade and was constantly in the principals office. One day the teacher asks him for his homework, he goes to get it out of his binder(he actually had it for once), and this five inch switch blade falls out of his binder. The teacher just kind of looked at him for a second and then started laughing. He said something like "Were you planning on knifing someone at recess today?" and then took the knife off of him. All he said was "You can have this back at the end of the day, and don't bring it again". No being sent to the office, no police called. I can imagine if that happened today. The kid would have been in juvi and expelled.

BTW, I'm waiting for the calls for "Knife Control" and background checks.

And it's only the second week of school here in Texas.

This school is 80% minority, 75% economically disadvantaged.
Wouldn't surprise me to hear it might be gang related and retaliation over something that happened over the summer.

Based on the news footage they just walked a handcuffed adult back into the school to be IDed along with a couple handcuffed students. They're saying that this started yesterday because of a school bus dispute and it fired back up this morning.

They behave in school exactly like they do in prison. Just abolish the public education system already and give the taxpayers their money back. The entire system should be private, with federal/state guidelines/requirements for graduation.
