But I agree with this.

I actually am a fiscal conservative and most of my friends/acquaintances are conservative and really it is disheartening how the crazy right has taken over the ideology of the Republican Party.

I am from Ohio and have voted for Republicans before, George Voinovich comes to mind, who was mayor of Cleveland, Governor of Ohio, and a Senator. He was a true conservative IMO. He was one of the only Republicans during the GW Bush years to be outspoken on Bush's overspending and fiscal irresponsibility. He also was willing to go across party lines and work with (the horror ) Obama on a small business proposal and some ACA initiatives in 2010 and was labeled a RINO due to it and criticized by many tea partyers. And IMO he was pretty conservative, he was anti-abortion, pro-Israel, and VERY fiscally conservative. I am pro-choice but could still support him because he wasn't a race baiter or hate mongerer and could think for himself and make sense. Those same tea partyers who ridiculed him in 2010 were all for him calling Obama a "socialist" during the 08 campaign. You just cannot reason with these hard right people. The GOP was the good ole party because it was full of thinkers and people who wanted responsible government but who also could compromise to ensure we stayed just a little to the right. Now-a-days if you went a little to the right, you would be a Democrat lol.
Fiscal conservatism is what is turning people away from the republican party.... the greed, corporate worshipping, poor hating neo cons are exactly why the right is losing lately..... most people are not wealthy and this is why the right is out of touch

Bashing is a part of politics.. it is the lies that fly as truth that are a constant here on C-D. It goes with the territory.

Many here if they can't find any good debate, they bash the person instead of defending their beliefs.. that is a constant too. Those look weak when they get personal and attack the person .

I still want to maintain some right-wing views but I don't want to have anger towards me. It's horrible. I saw a thread in the world section, the OP wanted to take a rightward spin on Europe, but it ended up in hateful discussion.
The RWers(can't really call them Conservatives) dislike Canadian HC for the same reason they fear Education.. But as to you thread title ..

That post of yours does not indicate you think highly of education..... guess we should all just spend more on education to improve it right Bobby?

Perhaps thinking beyond your party would lead to your enlightenment

Are you new to Politics? This is noting new. Especially those who play the Right Wing and Left wing dog and pony circus, participate as such. Besides that, how is your view an opinion controversial topically in this forum?
