I've been wondering about this. What reckless spending has caused the high rates of poverty and unemployment in America?

People say it's because Obama is "Cleaning up" George's mess.

The 20-something O voters will be paying for this all their lives.

Too bad, so sad.

This thread is hilarious. 1 OP+2 post and none of you have actually explained what part of HIS spending added to the debt.

Some people lie. According to them Bush spending $1 in 8 years is bad, Obama spending $3 in 2 years is good.

We can begin with the stimulus bill, which is expected to cost $3.2 TRILLION over a 10 year period..

Because even with rising taxes we have not come to gripes with fact that you cannot spend more than you take in. Britain;and euro zone members have learned this the hard way plus some that raising taxes is not going to solve the problem. It leads to destruction of means of production and growth in the economy.Too few can not support to many in the end which is what is happening in many countries;dependence. rather than contribution.

There has been only one year in U.S. history where the U.S. was debt free, 1835.

In recent times the 2 most significant spends have been Medicare/Medicaid and Defense.
