Why not tell the truth?....You may not have noticed the rising sea level, but it is happening all the same...

I've known since the beginning that the "global warming" propaganda the media was selling was BS. In the late 70's the experts were telling us there was an ice age coming. 77-78 was a very bad winter, Lake Michigan froze over. The earth has always gone through heating and cooling cycles caused by the increase and decrease in sun activity. Scientists have told us for many years that there were 4 ice ages in North America, that covered much of the northern part of the continent. The earth recorded a "little ice age", that started in the middle ages and didn't end till about 1850. Climate is variable, it cools; it warms and it has almost nothing to do with man made activity.

I know the shoreline like the back of my hand in some areas and IF? the sea level is rising it is such a small amount it Isn't noticeable!!! and that is over a period of 40 years!! that ipcc prediction will not be even close the what they project. who the hell knows what's going to happen in 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 years maybe the sea will rise some, maybe the ice caps will regenerate. who the heck knows they just want to instill fear in the masses.. just to many variables in a changing climate to make such predictions in only a few decades of data..

"When it comes to climate science reporting, the Mail on Sunday and Telegraph are only reliable in the sense that you can rely on them to usually get the science wrong. This weekend's Arctic sea ice articles from David Rose of the Mail and Hayley Dixon at the Telegraph unfortunately fit that pattern.

Both articles claimed that Arctic sea ice extent grew 60 percent in August 2013 as compared to August 2012. While this factoid is technically true, it's also largely irrelevant. For one thing, the annual Arctic sea ice minimum occurs in September – we're not there yet. And while this year's minimum extent will certainly be higher than last year's, that's not the least bit surprising. "Around 80% of the ~100 scientists at the Bjerknes [Arctic climate science] conference thought that there would be MORE Arctic sea-ice in 2013, compared to 2012."

The reason so many climate scientists predicted more ice this year than last is quite simple. There's a principle in statistics known as "regression toward the mean," which is the phenomenon that if an extreme value of a variable is observed, the next measurement will generally be less extreme. In other words, we should not often expect to observe records in consecutive years. 2012 shattered the previous record low sea ice extent; hence 'regression towards the mean' told us that 2013 would likely have a higher minimum extent."
Arctic sea ice delusions strike the Mail on Sunday and Telegraph

That's a popular myth. But it's just a myth. No, the 'experts' were NOT telling us in the 1970's that an Ice Age was coming. The vast majority of climate papers in the 1970s predicted warming.

The 1970s Ice Age Myth and Time Magazine Covers

Even most climate change skeptics know better than to use that myth as it's so easily debunked.

The Myth of the 1970s Global Cooling Scientific Consensus

"An enduring popular myth suggests that in the 1970s the climate science community was predicting “global cooling” and an “imminent” ice age, an observation frequently used by those who would undermine what climate scientists say today about the prospect of global warming. A review of the literature suggests that, on the contrary, greenhouse warming even then dominated scientists' thinking as being one of the most important forces shaping Earth's climate on human time scales. More importantly than showing the falsehood of the myth, this review describes how scientists of the time built the foundation on which the cohesive enterprise of modern climate science now rests."

Only when it conveniently goes against your ideology.

The funny thing is, in some bizarro, parallel universe if conservatives were behind the climate change they would be for it. BUT because Al Gore opened his mouth.... they gotta automatically be against it. People are funny.

That's certainly what some people would like you to believe. Especially those 'scientists' who are 'skeptical' of AGW.

Some of the loudest voices ranting about the 'global warming hoax!" are Biblical Creationists who are signatories to the Creationist Cornwall Alliance's:

"An Evangelical Declaration on Global Warming":
"We believe Earth and its ecosystems – created by God’s intelligent design and infinite power and sustained by His faithful providence – are robust, resilient, self-regulating, and self-correcting, admirably suited for human flourishing, and displaying His glory. Earth’s climate system is no exception. Recent global warming is one of many natural cycles of warming and cooling in geologic history.

The Cornwall Declaration further sets forth an articulate and Biblically-grounded set of beliefs and aspirations in which God can be glorified through a world in which "human beings care wisely and humbly for all creatures" and "widespread economic freedom…makes sound ecological stewardship available to ever greater numbers."
How often do we see these names amongst the 'skeptics'"
