The collective of the middle class must be more greedy than the collective of the CEOs. If the CEOs could care less about thousands of jobs in order to be more rich, then the average folks must care more about those jobs as a collective. They must desire to have and posses businesses more than the CEOs desires to buy out the competition.

Free market forces are just the people's desire for money. The people with the most money are the people that desired it more than any one else (although you could say that at times some people desire to give other people money, such as their children).

If someone on earth bought out the entire planet, it's because the people selling the earth to them didn't care enough (as a collective, it's likely that an individual wouldn't notice such intentions) about the earth to see through their schemes.

They don't care. Just look at any Walmart parking lot on any given day.
Walmart is the #1 employer in the US.

We stopped caring decades ago.

If neither the people nor the CEOs care enough about the middle class, then who will?

Haven't you heard we are on the way from trickle down economic to government supplied welfare by wealth sharing. Enough to feed you and not so much you begin thinking for yourself in the voting booth.

Where were you in the 90's when the offshoring of white collar started ?
I know where I was and what I was doing to get my voice heard.
But all those jobless recoveries with easy DEBT (credit) and people didn't give a damn.

Oh now the people seem to care because there aren't enough good paying jobs to go around.
They are just 20 years too late.

My post has very little to do with 1984.

While I did use the word collective, I was merely using it to describe people as a group.

I was too young in the 90's.

Your post has more to do with 1984 that you realize, it is not so much what you posted but the "solutions" to the "problem" you listed.

Trickle down is a poor way of viewing economics.
Welfare dependence is a poor way managing the economy.
